Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and more
• Manage ventilatory support and perform ventilator checks and adjustments
• Set up and manage CPAP/BiPAP therapy and provide titration as needed
• Administer nebulizer treatments, suctioning and oxygen therapy safely and effectively
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document care in the Meditech EMR
• Respond to respiratory emergencies, assist with code situations and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain, troubleshoot and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment
• Educate patients, families and staff about respiratory interventions and care plans

Qualifications

• RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) — specialty indicated as RRT
• BLS, ACLS and PALS are ABSOLUTE MUSTS (required for consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Preferred: NRP and Stroke Education experience
• Preferred: Prior Meditech EMR experience (director prefers candidates with Meditech background)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong expertise in ventilatory support and ventilator management
• Proficient with CPAP/BiPAP management, nebulizer therapy, suctioning and oxygen therapy
• Skilled in patient assessment and clinical decision-making in acute care
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR for documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit, fast-paced team environment
• Critical thinking and active disciplinary approach when coordinating with physicians
