Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to patients in the Burn/Trauma/Surgical ICU, ensuring safety and compassionate support
• Perform advanced bedside nursing including wound care, EVD management and participating in MTP (Massive Transfusion Protocol)
• Respond effectively during codes and urgent situations using strong critical thinking and clinical skills
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Maintain 2:1 ICU patient ratios and prioritize patient stability, comfort, and recovery
• Float as needed to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or PCU while adapting to unit-specific policies and equipment

Qualifications

• Current RN license (required)
• Minimum ICU experience — 1 year of relevant critical care practice (trauma, burn, or surgical ICU preferred)
• BSN preferred
• CCRN preferred
• Proven skills in wound care, EVD management, and participation in MTP and code responses
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR and working with critical care equipment
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities
• Willingness to work rotating nights and required weekends

Education

• RN license required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing and critical care principles
• Trauma, Burn and Surgical ICU experience
• Meditech electronic medical record proficiency
• Wound care techniques and post-op management
• EVD (external ventricular drain) management
• Familiarity with Massive Transfusion Protocol (MTP) processes
• Operation of critical care equipment and monitoring systems
• Effective communication, clinical judgment, and team collaboration
