Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care across ICU, PCU, MST, ED, and LDRP units, prioritizing patient safety and comfort
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators including Hamilton C6 and PB980 to optimize patient ventilation
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation to guide therapy decisions
• Initiate and manage noninvasive support such as BiPAP, V60 BiPAP, Bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and High Flow (HiFlo)
• Deliver oxygen therapy, home O2 assessments, and CPT vest therapies with attention to discharge readiness
• Document patient care thoroughly in Meditech Expanse and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Perform EKGs and support cardiac monitoring as part of comprehensive respiratory assessment
• Champion patient experience standards such as AIDET while mentoring unit colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• Current licensure as CRT or RRT in the state of practice
• Active NBRC credentialing and membership
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP
• Comfortable with ICU and emergency respiratory procedures and documentation systems

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management skills including experience with Hamilton C6 and PB980
• Competence with BiPAP, V60, Vapotherm, Airvo, Bubble CPAP, and High Flow therapy
• Proficient in ABG collection and interpretation
• Experience with Meditech Expanse or similar electronic health record systems
• Skilled in oxygen therapy, home O2 qualification, CPT vest use, and EKG performance
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care using AIDET principles
• Ability to prioritize in fast-paced settings across ICU, ED, and med-surg areas
