Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (Step-Down Unit). Exact start/end times and specific days to be confirmed with the hiring manager; RN - SDU

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess, monitor and manage patients in the Step-Down Unit with vigilance and compassion
Administer medications, treatments and therapies accurately and safely
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans
Recognize and respond to changing patient conditions, escalating concerns promptly
Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly in the health record
Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans and discharge needs
Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe clinical environment

Qualifications

Active RN license valid in Louisiana (required)
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtained per facility guidelines
Experience or strong interest in Step-Down/telemetry patient care preferred
Demonstrated critical thinking, strong assessment skills and effective communication
Comfortable with electronic medical records and standard clinical documentation

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Cardiopulmonary assessment and management skills
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Prioritization, delegation and time management in an acute care setting
Teamwork, patient advocacy and clear professional communication
