Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess pediatric patients before procedures to ensure readiness and safety
Coordinate with surgical and anesthesia teams for smooth pre-op flow
Provide compassionate, age-appropriate patient and family education about procedures and expectations
Prepare and maintain sterile supplies and equipment for pre-op care
Document assessments, interventions, and handoffs accurately in the patient record
Administer pre-operative medications and assist with IV starts as indicated
Advocate for the child and family to ensure comfort and minimize anxiety

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required)
Experience or strong interest in pediatrics and pre-operative nursing
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; PALS preferred
Comfortable working in fast-paced procedural settings and collaborating with surgical teams
Strong communicator with families and multidisciplinary care teams
Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation (orientation is provided)

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate communication skills
Pre-op clinical processes, safety checks, and documentation
IV starts, medication administration, and procedural support
Electronic health record (EHR) proficiency and accurate charting
Teamwork, situational awareness, and the ability to prioritize in a busy environment
Compassionate family-centered care and patient advocacy
