Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to pediatric critical care patients in the PICU
• Monitor and assess patient status continuously and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and other clinicians to develop and implement care plans
• Educate and support families through critical care treatment and recovery
• Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate, timely medical records

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (California) required
• Experience or training in pediatric critical care (PICU) preferred
• Current BLS required; PALS and/or ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented critical care environments
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and common PICU equipment
• Skill with patient assessment, ventilator monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring
• Ability to prioritize and triage in high-acuity situations
• Comfortable collaborating within an interdisciplinary team
• Strong clinical documentation and medication administration skills
