Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status, trends, and responses to interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Administer medications and manage advanced therapies per protocol and physician orders
• Educate and support families, delivering clear explanations and compassionate communication
• Participate in orientation and precepting to help onboard new team members and share best practices
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience or training in pediatric critical care, ideally PICU experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing for pediatric patients, including assessment and intervention
• Familiarity with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Medication administration and infusion management in critically ill children
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting nursing care clearly
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and family-centered care skills
