Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Monitor and assess patients continuously, interpreting vital signs and lab data to guide care
• Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Educate and support families through complex clinical situations with clear, empathetic communication
• Respond to rapid changes in patient condition, providing timely interventions and escalation when needed
• Document care thoroughly and maintain regulatory and unit standards for patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (California) required
• Experience or strong interest in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nursing
• BLS required; PALS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills in high-acuity settings
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills with patients’ families and clinical colleagues

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in pediatric critical care principles and interventions
• Familiarity with monitoring equipment, ventilators, and infusion pumps
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Skilled in medication administration and IV/central line care
• Proficient documentation and electronic medical record use
• Compassionate family-centered care approach
