Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess and monitor patients continuously, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Administer medications, manage IVs and advanced therapies with precision and safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapists, and families — to coordinate care plans
• Document patient status and interventions clearly and accurately in the medical record
• Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with PICU experience — this posting lists Registered Nurse and PICU as core skills
• Current basic life support (BLS); pediatric advanced life support (PALS) typically required or preferred
• Demonstrated experience in pediatric critical care and comfort with high-acuity patients
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work effectively with families and care teams
• Willingness to complete facility orientation as indicated in the job posting

Education

• Active RN licensure required (state-specific requirements apply)
• Nursing diploma/ADN or BSN — BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with pediatric critical care practices and monitoring
• Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and infusion therapy
• Critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in high-stress situations
• Clear clinical documentation and handoff communication
