Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric critical care patients in the PICU
• Monitor patients closely, interpret clinical data, and intervene promptly to ensure safety
• Administer medications and therapies accurately, following facility protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapists, and family members—to create and adjust care plans
• Document patient status and interventions thoroughly and clearly in the medical record
• Participate in orientation, training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio (or compact state eligibility where applicable)
• Experience or interest in pediatric critical care / PICU nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Demonstrated clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced unit
• Willingness to complete required orientation and facility-specific training

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with pediatric critical care monitoring and equipment
• Ability to interpret vital signs, lab results, and hemodynamic data
• Skilled in medication administration and titration for critically ill children
• Strong teamwork, triage, and prioritization skills
• Family-centered care approach and excellent bedside manner
