Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 8-hour PCU shift; specific start/end times and days not provided (orientation required)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients
- Continuously assess and monitor patient status, including cardiac telemetry when indicated
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
- Participate in unit orientation and precepting as needed to support a skilled team
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or ability to obtain licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Experience or strong interest in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing
- Demonstrated clinical judgment, strong communication, and teamwork skills
- Current immunizations and any facility-required health screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with cardiac monitoring and managing intermediate acuity patients
- Proficient in medication administration and IV therapy
- Skilled in patient assessment, documentation, and care planning
- Familiarity with electronic health records and basic clinical informatics
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain calm under pressure
