Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit
Assess, monitor, and document patient status and respond to changes promptly
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and families to create and implement care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Practice effective handoff and communication to ensure continuity of care
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or eligibility under nurse licensure compact
Experience or interest in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing
Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Clean, professional attitude and excellent communication skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with PCU-level monitoring and interventions
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely
Skilled in electronic charting and clinical documentation
Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across disciplines
Basic understanding of telemetry and intermediate care workflows
