Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a progressive care/stepdown cardiac unit
• Safely manage and titrate cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerine, diltiazem/Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, bumex/Lasix) and drips such as insulin and heparin
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to inform timely interventions
• Perform bedside cardioversion and other unit-specific procedures according to protocol
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care for patients recovering from cath/stent, pacer/ICD procedures, ablations, and complex cardiac diagnoses
• Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and communicate changes in patient status promptly

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state-appropriate, active)
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical nursing experience (PCU/stepdown or telemetry strongly preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Hands-on experience with telemetry and titratable cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerine, diltiazem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drips, heparin, bumex/Lasix)
• Comfortable with Cerner EMR or similar electronic health record systems
• Ability to work every other weekend as scheduled and be a flexible, positive team player

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Progressive care/PCU nursing practices and patient assessment
• Management and titration of cardiac infusions and drips
• Bedside cardioversion and emergency cardiac interventions
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR for documentation and med administration
• Strong communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills
