Location: Dayton, OH

Start Date: 05-04-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour OR shifts (specific start/end times and days vary by surgical schedule; exact shift times to be provided by hiring team). Includes mandatory orientation.

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the pediatric operating room and instruments for scheduled cases
Provide safe, compassionate RN-level care to pediatric surgical patients
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to ensure smooth case flow
Monitor patients throughout procedures and communicate changes promptly
Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies
Participate in orientation and precepting as required to maintain high standards

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio (or compact/eligible as applicable)
Experience or strong interest in Operating Room nursing with pediatric patients
Current BLS; PALS encouraged or required depending on facility policy
Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborate across teams
Strong communication skills and attention to safety and detail

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred where possible

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric patient care principles and age-appropriate communication
Perioperative nursing practices, sterile technique, and OR instrumentation
Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and prioritize patient safety
Teamwork, adaptability, and calm decision-making under pressure
Basic familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation
