Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Neuro Stepdown patients
Perform focused neurological assessments and continuously monitor patient status
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
Document patient care, assessments, and interventions clearly and timely
Respond to changes in patient condition with sound clinical judgment and escalate appropriately
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be able to practice in Louisiana
Experience or interest in Neuro Stepdown (SDU) care — strong neuro assessment skills a plus
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
Comfort with telemetry/monitoring and managing moderate-acuity patients
Willingness to complete required orientation as part of onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in neurological assessment and monitoring
Proficient with telemetry and recognition of arrhythmias
Strong medication administration and IV competency
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and make critical decisions under pressure
Team-oriented attitude and a focus on patient safety
