Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to Neuro ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Perform thorough neurological assessments and monitor patients using advanced monitoring equipment
• Administer medications, manage infusions, and titrate therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient care plans
• Document patient status and interventions clearly and promptly in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatments, and discharge planning to promote recovery and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS and CCRN preferred
• Experience or strong interest in Neuro ICU or critical care nursing
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background checks as required by the facility
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Neurological assessment and intracranial pressure monitoring knowledge
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficient medication administration and titration skills
• Accurate electronic medical record documentation
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education
• Ability to prioritize and respond rapidly in high-acuity situations
