Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition, using clinical judgment to prioritize care
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans for Med/Surg patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document patient care and clinical observations clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Provide compassionate patient and family education to support recovery
• Maintain unit flow and patient safety, escalating concerns when needed
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and best practice initiatives

Qualifications

• Current RN license in New Hampshire or ability to obtain state licensure
• Experience or training in medical-surgical nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications a plus
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to work 12.5-hour shifts as part of unit scheduling

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and protocols
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Patient assessment, vital signs interpretation, and care prioritization
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Infection control practices and patient safety focus
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
