Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care to adults
• Perform thorough assessments, document findings, and develop nursing plans of care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff to support positive outcomes
• Monitor patients’ clinical status and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation and handoffs
• Support unit workflow by assisting with admissions, discharges, and care coordination

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential — required
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — demonstrated clinical competency
• Comfortable working 12-hour shift patterns and adapting to unit needs
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or specialty certifications encouraged or preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Reliable licensure and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with patient safety practices and infection control
• Effective patient and family education techniques
• Proficiency with documentation and electronic health records
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment
