Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts, RN - MED/SURG (exact start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed by facility)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
Assess patient status, monitor clinical progress, and document findings accurately
Administer medications, perform treatments, and follow established protocols
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal outcomes
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives on the unit

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license (eligible to practice in Louisiana required)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable preferred
Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing practices and patient care standards
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Proficient clinical documentation and electronic health record usage
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively during 12.5-hour shifts
