Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts; specific start/end times and days to be confirmed (Med/Surg shift schedule to be provided by the hiring team)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to medical-surgical patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications a plus
Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing preferred
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mentality

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

Solid med-surg patient assessment and monitoring skills
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Familiarity with common inpatient procedures and wound care
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in urgent situations
Clear, compassionate communication with patients and families
Comfortable with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
