Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients while prioritizing safety
• Perform ongoing assessment and timely intervention for rapidly changing patient conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Administer medications, manage ventilators and titrate infusions according to protocols
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of continuous improvement
• Mentor and support colleagues and contribute to a positive, learning-focused team environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana (compact license holders accepted per state guidelines)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification strongly preferred
• Prior ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with ventilator management and advanced monitoring equipment
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and prioritization
• Advanced cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring
• Mechanical ventilation basics and troubleshooting
• Medication administration and infusion titration
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
