Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Assess, monitor and document patient status, recognizing changes early and escalating appropriately
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring and other advanced ICU equipment with confidence
• Administer medications and titrate drips safely following physician orders and unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute individualized care plans
• Educate and support patients and families during stressful critical care episodes
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and help maintain a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or applicable multi-state/compact privileges
• Experience in an adult ICU setting; prior critical care experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced critical care environments
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Proficient with cardiac monitoring, titratable vasoactive drips and hemodynamic assessment
• Comfortable with IV medication administration and central line care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and remain calm under pressure
