Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU with compassion and clinical precision
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, hemodynamics, and ventilator settings to inform timely interventions
• Administer medications, IV therapies and titratable drips safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to implement care plans
• Perform thorough assessments, document patient progress, and communicate changes to the care team
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and post-discharge care
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and nursing best practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN license where applicable)
• Experience in adult ICU care (prior ICU experience highly preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred or required per facility
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to rotating schedules as needed
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with critical care monitoring equipment and interpreting hemodynamic data
• Knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory support modalities
• Familiarity with ICU medication titration, vasoactive drips and sedation practices
• Excellent interdisciplinary collaboration and prioritization skills
• Ability to provide compassionate patient and family-centered care in high-acuity situations
