Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based ICU nursing care to critically ill patients
• Perform continuous patient assessment and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Manage advanced therapies and assist with ventilator and hemodynamic support as needed
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in orientation activities as both learner and, when appropriate, mentor to new staff
• Contribute to a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or ability to obtain one
• Experience or training in ICU nursing (ICU, critical care experience preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Comfort with electronic health record documentation and unit workflows
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to participate in and complete orientation program

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of critical care assessment and monitoring
• Familiarity with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Skilled in medication administration and titration in ICU settings
• Proficient with electronic charting and documentation best practices
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond effectively in high-acuity situations
