Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients rapidly and accurately in the emergency setting
• Administer medications, start IVs, and manage emergency interventions safely
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver timely care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the chart
• Provide patient- and family-centered education with compassion and clarity
• Respond to emergent situations with calm, decisive action and sound clinical judgment

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous emergency room experience preferred but motivated new ER nurses are welcome
• Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
• Proficient with IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with common ER equipment and monitors
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems
• Ability to prioritize multiple high-acuity patients and tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse patient populations
