Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (schedule varies; typical 12.5-hour shift blocks for ED/ER coverage)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED/ER environment
Perform rapid assessments, triage, and critical interventions to stabilize patients
Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate timely treatment plans
Administer medications and treatments accurately while documenting care clearly and promptly
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and next steps in a compassionate way
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in Hawaii (or eligible to obtain) — this role requires RN status
BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Experience in Emergency Department / Emergency Room settings preferred
Strong clinical judgment, the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations, and excellent communication skills
Ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Triage principles and emergency nursing practices
IV therapy, medication administration and emergency procedures
Cardiac monitoring and basic life support interventions
Effective teamwork, clear communication, and patient/family education skills
Comfort working in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment and adapting quickly
