Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Triage patients rapidly and accurately to prioritize care needs
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Monitor, assess, and document patient condition and responses to interventions
• Respond promptly to emergencies and code situations with calm, competent action
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Support unit operations by participating in huddles, handoffs, and quality initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Previous Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in emergency triage, assessment, and acute care interventions
• Competent with IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Able to prioritize multiple patients and tasks under pressure
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and teamwork
• Familiarity with ED protocols, sepsis bundles, and trauma response is a plus
