Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Emergency Department patients
• Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care clearly
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Participate in patient and family education to support recovery and safe discharge
• Maintain meticulous charting and adhere to facility policies and regulatory standards
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment and help mentor newer staff during orientation

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential (state licensure required)
• Experience or strong interest in Emergency Department/ER nursing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or obtained soon after hire
• Comfort with fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environments and quick decision-making
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with patients, families and team members
• Willingness to participate in required orientation and unit-specific training

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Ability to manage multiple acute patients simultaneously
• Strong IV/medication administration and documentation skills
• Familiarity with ED equipment and emergency protocols
• Effective teamwork, prioritization and time-management abilities
• Compassionate patient-centered communication
