Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts, start/end times vary (ED/ER)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess, triage, and prioritize care for emergency department patients quickly and accurately
Provide timely, evidence-based nursing interventions for acute and urgent conditions
Initiate and manage advanced life support measures and collaborate on critical cases
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the medical record
Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and disposition
Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and follow-up to promote recovery and safety

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
Previous Emergency Department or ED experience preferred
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and respond to the fast pace of emergency care
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency assessment skills
IV therapy, medication administration, and wound management
Basic EKG interpretation and recognition of life-threatening rhythms
Ability to prioritize under pressure and manage multiple patients
Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
