Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care in the fast-paced ED
• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients across all emergency presentations
• Monitor patient status, interpret vital signs and respond to changes with appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform ED-specific procedures per scope and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and ancillary staff to create efficient care plans and safe dispositions
• Document patient care clearly and promptly in the electronic health record
• Participate in rapid response situations and support a culture of safety and teamwork

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana RN or compact license preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred; new grads with strong ED interest may be considered depending on unit needs
• Ability to handle high-acuity patients, multi-task and make sound clinical decisions under pressure
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
• Proficiency with IV therapy, wound care and ED procedures
• Familiarity with common ED medications and rapid medication administration protocols
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care clearly
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients safely
