Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in the ED
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment
• Initiate and manage treatments, medications, and interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient care thoroughly and communicate clear handoffs during shift changes
• Respond to critical situations calmly and effectively, advocating for patient safety and outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first mindset
• Ability to work 12.5-hour clinical shifts in a high-acuity setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment
• IV therapy, medication administration, and ACLS/PALS protocols
• Familiarity with ED workflows, documentation, and electronic medical records
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients safely
• De-escalation and patient/family communication skills
• Basic familiarity with trauma and resuscitation principles
