Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist to support recovery and mobility
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board policies
• Assist in maintaining the department and keep treatment areas safe and organized
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences to support interdisciplinary planning
• Assist with cleaning and routine maintenance of treatment equipment and areas
• Deliver treatments per physician and therapist plans, adapting to patient needs
• Train and support restorative aides and nursing staff on caregiver techniques
• Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans clearly with supervisors and care teams
• Participate in in-service training programs to promote continuous learning across the facility
• Document treatment changes per facility policies and assist with discharge planning education for patients and families
• Report equipment issues promptly to ensure safe, uninterrupted care
• Relate positively and professionally with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice (must maintain license in good standing)
• Proficient computer skills and experience with documentation platforms such as Casamba and Point Click Care
• Ability to meet state continuing education requirements and maintain certifications
• Strong clinical communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Experience or comfort training restorative aides and caregivers on maintenance programs
• Professional bedside manner with the ability to relate effectively and compassionately to patients and families

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (required)
• Must meet and maintain state continuing education requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and hands-on rehabilitation techniques
• Treatment documentation and progress note preparation
• Caregiver training and restorative aide instruction
• Clinical communication and interdisciplinary coordination
• Familiarity with Casamba and Point Click Care documentation systems
• Equipment maintenance awareness and reporting
• Basic computer skills for charting and electronic record keeping
