Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for a broad mix of cases, with emphasis on pediatric, ENT and plastic surgery — be the steady hand the team counts on
• Prepare and verify instruments, case carts, and equipment (including basic surgical kits and crash carts) so every case starts smoothly
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and follow Universal Protocol (time out) to keep patients safe
• Support robotic cases (Da Vinci Xi) and specialty procedures as needed, collaborating closely with surgeons and perioperative staff
• Document case details and equipment use in Epic and ensure accurate specimen handling/labeling
• Float to outpatient surgical centers when needed and respond professionally to on-call assignments

Qualifications

• Washington license in hand (WA LIC IN HAND) — candidates must have licensure ready
• Minimum 1 year of OR technician/surgical tech experience
• Proficient in scrubbing pediatric, ENT and plastic surgery cases — this is a must
• Scrub and circulate skills required
• BLS and NBSTSA certifications preferred (NBSTSA not required for the facility)
• Teaching hospital experience and Trauma Level I or II experience are a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic technique and Universal Protocol (Time Out)
• Specimen handling and labeling best practices
• Familiarity with Epic charting
• Laser safety and radiation safety awareness
• Experience with basic surgical equipment, crash cart and case cart setup
• Comfort assisting in robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi) and advanced specialty procedures
• Ability to work across pediatrics through geriatrics and adapt to varied caseloads
• Strong teamwork, communication, and situational awareness in high-acuity OR settings
