Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform medically prescribed laboratory tests accurately and efficiently to support patient care
• Collect, label, and process specimens with attention to detail and chain-of-custody procedures
• Operate and maintain laboratory analyzers and instruments, following manufacturer and lab protocols
• Perform quality control, document results, and escalate any variances or instrument issues
• Maintain accurate records in the lab information system and ensure regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with clinicians and lab colleagues to communicate results and support patient care decisions
• Contribute to a safe, clean, and organized lab environment and follow safety protocols

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program or equivalent clinical laboratory training
• Certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred or in progress
• State licensure if required by Montana (obtain/maintain as applicable)
• Hands-on experience performing routine clinical laboratory testing and specimen handling
• Strong attention to detail, excellent documentation skills, and commitment to quality
• Able to work night shift reliably and collaborate in a team environment
• Pass required background checks and pre-employment screenings

Education

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related clinical laboratory field (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related discipline (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in medical laboratory testing, specimen collection and handling
• Familiarity with lab analyzers, point-of-care testing devices, and routine maintenance
• Understanding of quality control, calibration, and troubleshooting procedures
• Knowledge of CLIA regulations and standard laboratory safety practices
• Comfortable using laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer applications
• Strong communication skills for interacting with clinicians and teammates
