Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography exams including screening, diagnostic, specimen radiography, breast needle localization, and stereotactic breast biopsy
• Operate CT equipment and assist with interventional procedures, including setup and contrast/automatic injector management
• Apply radiation protection principles and maintain high standards of image quality and patient safety
• Maintain radiology records, participate in departmental quality assurance and daily/weekly QC tasks
• Provide excellent patient care across the lifespan and assist with patient transfer and positioning
• Assume department responsibility in the absence of a supervisor and participate in call coverage
• Collaborate with physicians and staff, adapting protocols to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Participate in supply inventory, ordering, and equipment care

Qualifications

• Current ARRT (Radiography) certification required
• BLS (AHA) required within 45 days of start
• Clinical competency assessment required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Able to perform diagnostic exams for assigned modalities (Mammography and CT experience preferred)
• Comfortable with venipuncture, contrast administration, sterile technique, and teleradiology workflows
• Willingness to rotate between modalities and sites as needed and to take call

Education

• ARRT in Radiography (required)
• ARDMS acceptable for certain modality roles (per SEARHC tech level guidelines)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) within 45 days
• Clinical competency documentation as required by SEARHC

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography: screening, diagnostic, stereotactic biopsy, specimen radiography
• CT imaging and interventional procedure support
• Diagnostic radiography principles and radiation protection
• Quality assurance and quality control practices
• Patient care across all age groups and strong communication skills
• Familiarity with automatic injectors, contrast contraindications, and tele-radiology transmission
• Supply inventory management and sterile technique
