Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the Cost Accounting system to produce monthly service line and physician practice Profit & Loss statements and scorecards.
• Oversee productivity management and generate reports used for financial planning and performance improvement.
• Lead preparation of financial feasibility analyses using STRATA: calculate ROI, payback period, NPV, IRR and other capital project metrics.
• Support reporting to external rating agencies (S&P, Fitch, DAC, EMMA) and provide documentation for audits and insurance renewals.
• Drive the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the STRATA rolling forecast and forecasting modules.
• Provide ad hoc and recurring reporting for annual financial audits, cost report filing, community benefit reporting and GME reporting.
• Train and mentor managers, the decision support supervisor, and analysts to interpret productivity and financial reporting tools.
• Provide oversight for finance-related software implementations including ERP components and leasing software integrations.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to validate cost structures and develop performance improvement plans for service lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in cost accounting, budgeting and/or decision support — healthcare experience required.
• Hands-on experience with STRATA financial software or a similar decision support system.
• Proven experience publishing P&L statements, supporting audits, and preparing reports for external agencies.
• Comfort mentoring staff and leading cross-functional finance projects.
• Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) and financial and/or healthcare certifications.
• Preferred: experience with bundled payments, physician reimbursement, and hospital contracting/reimbursement.

Education

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Health Administration (MHA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cost accounting, budgeting and decision support expertise
• STRATA system proficiency (including forecasting module)
• Service line profitability analysis and P&L preparation
• Financial modeling: ROI, NPV, IRR and payback analysis
• Forecasting, ad hoc reporting and audit support
• Experience with ERP and leasing software implementations
• Familiarity with reporting to rating agencies and GME reporting
• Strong mentoring, training and cross-functional communication skills
