Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility and mealtime support in a respectful manner
• Observe residents closely and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Follow individualized care plans and help implement interventions that improve quality of life
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with colleagues and families
• Support resident dignity, independence and social engagement through meaningful interactions

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification appropriate for Maryland
• High school diploma or GED (see education for details)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background checks, TB screening and required immunizations
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
• Prior experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and geriatric care needs
• Infection control principles and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills, whether paper or electronic
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and families
• Reliable time management, observation and reporting abilities
• Team collaboration and willingness to support nursing staff
