Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Varies (as scheduled), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Assist with meals, feeding, hydration, and basic comfort measures
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, respectful environment

Qualifications

Current GNA certification or state-recognized equivalent (Maryland certification preferred or eligible to obtain)
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working night shifts and flexible per-diem availability
Compassionate attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred but not required
Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required health screenings

Education

High school diploma or GED; completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Resident-centered care and assistance with ADLs
Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
Basic charting and documentation practices
Infection prevention and control
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a care team
