Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations (XR and CT) for patients of all ages with professional judgment and attention to radiation safety
• Operate and care for CT and X‑ray equipment; set up and run automatic injectors and adjust contrast levels per patient age
• Assist with interventional and invasive procedures, maintaining sterile technique and assisting physicians as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records, imaging files, and departmental documentation
• Participate in and assume responsibility for the department quality assurance program and daily/weekly QC tasks
• Deliver excellent patient care — transfer patients safely, communicate clearly, and tailor protocols for pediatric to geriatric populations
• Support tele-radiology transmission processes and consult with referring physicians to ensure diagnostic quality
• Manage supply inventory and ordering to keep the department functioning smoothly
• Rotate shifts and respond to on-call duties promptly; be willing to cross-train in other imaging modalities as needed

Qualifications

• Current ARRT (Radiography) certification required
• Clinical competency must be achieved within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years
• Proven ability to perform diagnostic exams relevant to assigned modality (XR and CT)
• Willingness to be cross-trained in additional imaging modalities (MRI, Mammography, NM, etc.) as operational needs dictate
• Comfort assisting with invasive procedures and performing venipuncture/contrast administration
• Ability to work under pressure, rotate shifts, and respond to on-call requests within 20 minutes

Education

• Current ARRT (Radiography) certification required; modality certifications (CT, MR, MG, NM) preferred where noted
• Clinical competency demonstration within 3 months of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of radiation protection and safety practices
• Proficiency in CT imaging protocols and radiographic techniques
• Ability to perform venipuncture and manage contrast administration/automatic injector use
• Familiarity with tele-radiology transmission and image quality control
• Competence in sterile technique for interventional support
• Patient assessment across lifespan: newborns through geriatric patients
• Quality assurance, equipment care, and supply management skills
