Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an OTR to help patients regain independence
• Implement individualized treatment plans and document progress clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and support discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home safety
• Assist with assessments, outcome measurements, and regular reevaluation of patient goals

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Active California COTA license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Graduation from an accredited OTA/OTA program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment, and ADL training
• Skilled in clinical documentation and use of electronic health records
• Ability to perform patient assessments and implement evidence-based interventions
• Comfort working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan
• Good teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills
