Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding)
• Take and document vital signs and report clinical changes promptly
• Support mobility and safe transfers, promoting resident independence
• Maintain accurate, professional charting and documentation
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Contribute to a positive facility environment through teamwork and professional conduct

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia CNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable providing hands-on care and working every other weekend as noted
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen per facility policy
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but motivated new CNAs are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong basic nursing care skills and understanding of ADLs
• Ability to accurately take and record vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills with residents and staff
• Comfortable with electronic charting or paper documentation
