Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform EEG studies accurately and efficiently to support neurologists in diagnosis
• Conduct EMG testing, nerve conduction studies (NCS), and autonomic testing with attention to patient comfort and safety
• Collaborate closely with physicians across inpatient and outpatient settings to ensure high-quality testing and reporting
• Document findings and chart in EPIC in a timely, organized manner to support continuity of care
• Maintain patient safety and infection control standards including adherence to facility policies
• Communicate clearly with patients and families, explaining procedures and setting expectations
• Assist in maintaining equipment, supplies, and a tidy testing environment to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

• Registry by ABEM or AAET required (Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist R.NCS.T or equivalent EMG credentials)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in EMG/EEG or neurodiagnostic testing preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional specialized training or credentialing in neurodiagnostics preferred
• Experience with both outpatient and inpatient testing environments
• Comfortable using EPIC for charting and documentation
• Valid Driver's License and ability to comply with the 50 mile radius submission rule
• Willingness to follow facility policies including fingernail/artificial nail restrictions for patient care areas

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional formal training or registry in EMG/EEG strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EEG and EMG testing techniques
• Competent performing nerve conduction studies (NCS) and autonomic studies
• Solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to the nervous system
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system and medical documentation best practices
• Strong patient communication and comfort management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety and infection control standards
