Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret basic rhythms to detect changes quickly
• Assess patients and communicate clinical changes to the physician in a timely manner
• Deliver patient and family education to support recovery and self-care
• Maintain standards of care and best practices in the telemetry unit
• Guide and delegate tasks to other nursing personnel while ensuring quality and safety
• Respond rapidly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications listed as required in facility checklist
• Nursys registration for license verification
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• COVID vaccination/boosters preferred
• Willingness to complete required facility screenings and tests (drug screen, TB test, fit test, immunizations, Prime competency exams and skills checklist)

Education

• Current and valid state RN license (completion of an accredited nursing program implied by licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Basic rhythm interpretation
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Patient and family teaching skills
• Direct bedside care and documentation skills
• Familiarity with ventilator management (preferred)
