Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary nursing care for pediatric and adult MST patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for adult MST patients and respond promptly to changes
• Administer and manage high-flow oxygen and BiPAP to stabilize patients for transfer when needed
• Float and cross-train to MCU, MST and the birthing unit to support changing census and patient needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including RTs, monitor techs and charge RNs to deliver coordinated care
• Participate in hospital and unit orientation, maintain accurate documentation in Cerner, and uphold unit policies and safety standards
• Serve as a dependable bedside nurse during every other weekend and holiday rotations, supporting continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active RN credential (registered nurse) required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS and PALS must be current
• Must pass the dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to contract start (80% passing threshold)
• Experience working with pediatric patients is required; ability to care for adults as well
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred
• Willingness to float and cross-train, including mom-baby couplets and MCU/MST

Education

• BSN not required (employers accept other nursing pathways); active RN licensure expected

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric nursing skills and comfort with mixed adult/pediatric caseloads
• Telemetry experience and telemetry strip interpretation
• Acute care nursing practices and patient assessment
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting
• High-flow oxygen and BiPAP administration experience
• Ability to read monitors and collaborate with remote monitor techs
