Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory testing accurately and efficiently
• Process and prepare specimens while following strict chain-of-custody and quality procedures
• Validate and document test results, ensuring compliance with lab policies and regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot instruments and assay issues, escalating when necessary to maintain patient care
• Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate clearly with care teams to support timely and effective patient diagnosis

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (California licensure preferred)
• ASCP or equivalent certification is a plus and demonstrates strong proficiency
• Comfortable handling a variety of lab assays and instrumentation with attention to detail
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with technologists and clinicians
• Preferred: 1-3 years of clinical laboratory experience, though motivated candidates with relevant training are encouraged to apply

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and quality control
• Familiarity with lab information systems (LIS) and electronic result reporting
• Experience with hematology, chemistry, immunology, or microbiology assays is helpful
• Ability to follow SOPs, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols consistently
• Good troubleshooting skills for instrumentation and assay performance
