Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional mobility and design individualized treatment plans
• Deliver skilled physical therapy interventions in both inpatient acute and outpatient settings
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and fall prevention
• Adapt treatment approaches based on patient response and changing medical status

Qualifications

• Current Michigan Physical Therapy license (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Experience in inpatient acute care and outpatient settings (preferred)
• Weekend availability for alternating weekend coverage
• Traveler experience is a plus and demonstrates adaptability to new clinical environments
• Completion of required competency exams and checklists as part of credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and therapeutic exercise prescription skills
• Proficiency with documentation and use of electronic medical records
• Knowledge of inpatient acute care protocols and outpatient rehabilitation principles
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to safely mobilize and transfer patients and use assistive devices effectively
• Familiarity with outcome measures and progress reporting
