Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert telemetry monitoring and high-quality progressive care to a 36-bed med-surg/PCU unit
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care at every shift and communicate changes promptly
• Document assessments, interventions and care plans accurately in Cerner
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including charge nurses, CNAs and ancillary services—to coordinate safe, timely care
• Assist in preparing patients for Endoscopy, IR and OR procedures as needed
• Step into leadership or charge roles when assigned and support unit flow and staffing

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) licensure appropriate for practice (verify state requirements)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care nursing experience
• Experience with Medical Telemetry required
• Familiarity with Cerner and Cerner Patient Observation (CPO) strongly preferred
• CMSRN encouraged and will make your application stand out
• Leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven telemetry skills and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Cerner EMR navigation and accurate electronic documentation
• Skilled in patient observation and remote telemetry monitoring tools
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and time management
• Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Adaptability to unit guidelines, floating to sister med-surge units (3W, 5W, K8)
