Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and approve medication orders with precision to keep patients safe
• Perform vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing and monitoring
• Provide medication verification for first doses and emergency medication boxes
• Conduct pain consults and collaborate with clinical teams to optimize therapy
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians during compounding and dispensing
• Perform sterile IV compounding oversight using Dose Edge and maintain compliance
• Manage Pyxis and Pak Edge workflows and ensure medication availability
• Document interventions and communicate changes clearly in the EMR (Meditech)

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO Pharmacist License required)
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience (as listed in the posting)
• Experience with inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication verification
• Competent in sterile IV compounding procedures and supervising technicians
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• ACLS and BLS (preferred)
• NICU experience (preferred)

Education

• Pharmacy degree (accredited)

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient pharmacy operations and unit-based clinical services
• Medication verification and safe dispensing practices
• Therapeutic dosing: vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants
• Sterile IV compounding and compounding verification (Dose Edge)
• Pyxis and Pak Edge medication system management
• Experience using Meditech EMR for documentation and order verification
• Supervising and training pharmacy technicians
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
