Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for NVICU patients, maintaining high standards of safety and compassion
• Monitor and manage ventilators, hemodynamics and complex infusions for critically ill patients
• Perform and manage care related to central line and arterial line placement and maintenance
• Assist with or manage intubations and post-procedure critical care
• Care for patients with EVD devices in collaboration with core neuro staff
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and participate in unit quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (eligible to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (ICU experience is a must)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Experience with Meditech is preferred
• Preferred experience in Oncology and Neuro patient populations
• Comfortable with central line, arterial line, intubation and EVD patient care
• Team player attitude, accountable and caring with the ability to work nights and weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and ICU best practices
• ACLS protocols and emergency response
• Meditech electronic medical record navigation
• Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Central line and arterial line care and troubleshooting
• Intubation support and post-intubation management
• EVD device awareness and neuro-critical care considerations
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills
