Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing to adult patients, delivering safe, evidence-based care
• Monitor and interpret cardiac/telemetry data and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments accurately and on time
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and discharge planning with compassion
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (TX license or compact RN license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent progressive care/PCU, telemetry, or step-down nursing experience
• BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation and acute care interventions
• Ability to pass background check and required onboarding screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• IV placement, medication administration and infusion pump management
• Solid assessment and clinical decision-making skills in an intermediate acuity setting
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely during busy night shifts
• Patient/family education and discharge coordination
